Sarah Cutting I converted people who had strong opposite to veganism. Even you denied, many are pushed away by divisive approaches, I provided the article about bad vegan reputation https://theconversation.com/why-do-vegans-have-such-bad-reputations-103683 . Do not label them not vegan at heart. Everyone has potentials. And I am not disagree with you about the chimp issues. You again wrongly assumed enemies. My point is real life often has difficulties of being complete vegan, just like chimps cannot find that much fruits. Don't be too harsh to people who cannot be there right away. They can just be more honest about what they eat, not pretending a moral high ground. This is from my International survey: People from traditional meat eating society/culture eat more animal products even if they self identify as veg*n.Cosmos Aqua replied to her own comment.
Group: Cairns Vegans for Change
Sarah Cutting vegan permaculture is a subset of permaculture. So vegan permaculture is permaculture. It is like vegan chocolate is chocolate. You think it is not...Basic logic. ID influences subconscious. Cutting is very divisive, you may want to change it. I am sorry I don't have more time to teach you . https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subset Cosmos Aqua replied to her own comment.

Jocah Le Fey You bar of polite must be low. I am here looking for help of saving a chicken, you can save the bird, but avoid doing so. Instead you choose to harrass me till now. Thats shameful. You can keep presenting your dogmatic/divisive/carnivore opinions as truth or fact. But my hourly rate of consultation is $6k. I am busy helping animals. Cannot teach you free.Cosmos Aqua replied to her own comment.
Group: Cairns Vegans for Change
Jocah Le Fey You cannot read and research. Permaculture originally just means permanent agriculture https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/permaculture you can look up dictionary online if you don't know something. Dogmatic people are naturally divisive. And divisive thinking is more a territory/carnivore behaviour: Herbivores usually have larger number, like sheep, so are less territory/divisive. You can take an educated guess if you see a divisive person, he would have more predatory behaviour, less vegan. You need to study animal behaviour and ecology yourself. I perfer spend my time on important things, not your level of questions.Cosmos Aqua replied to her own comment.
Group: Cairns Vegans for Change
Sarah Cutting says Permaculture vegan are oppositing. I am showing her it is her own divisive opinion. They can be united. Why do you force me to be so confrontational? I hoped you figure out quietly Jocah Le FeyCosmos Aqua replied to her own comment.

https://theconversation.com/why-do-vegans-have-such-bad-reputations-103683 I think it is partly to do w. predatory/defamatory nature of meat eaters. But Eastern religions(Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism etc.) have been peacefully teaching veganism for thousands of years.Cosmos Aqua replied to her own comment.
Group: Cairns Vegans for Change
Sarah Cutting I am sorry, you cannot read. If you 'need' your boyfriend, does this mean you 'use' him? I said previously, I used the term permaculture loosely, I also called it gathering. I don't like divisive approach of veganism which setting up more enemies in public , people like our approach complained about the divisive vegans like you to us but are changing diet under our guidance, how do you know your approach is more effective? https://www.veganaustralia.org.au/principles_of_vegan_permaculture I bring people together. Chimps (closest relative of humans) diet are about 5% nonplants, I would still call them vegan/herbivore. I work with data, science, sensitive to small difference. Our world is not only black and white, there are spectrum of color in between. I produce many publications explaining the harms of category/divisive thinkingCosmos Aqua replied to her own comment.

Jocah Le Fey your problem is you assume bad faith of us and defame. Discriminatory people often do this. That is what I said attack. Our chooks are similar to feral means they have more freedom than regular pets. We coexist with them, not use. We are accommodating, rehoming rescued chooks. The time we spend in the unconstructive debate can be used to educate more meat eater animal killers outside. Cosmos Aqua replied to her own comment.

Why it is direction: Chicken is major farm animal internationally, main source food for human presently. It will not go away over night.
No, you said animal 'input', not 'using' go back look at what you said.
We cannot have rooster because of regulation , neighborhood noise. It does not mean we don't want rooster in an ideal system. I can stand the crow sound myself.Cosmos Aqua replied to her own comment.
Group: Cairns Vegans for Change
The difference is what I said: dogma. Our birds are like feral. We let them living this way. We need them for scientific study here: Comparing efficiency of different system. The results can benefit many animals: showing a better system/direction. Jocah Le FeyCosmos Aqua replied to her own comment.
Group: Cairns Vegans for Change
We see it differently. We paid to rescued some birds from the breeding industry. And the hens are a good fit to our natural farming testing field where we are studying permaculture/symbiosis. We need them. We been looking for adoptions first, but cannot find. And permaculture is not dogma too. I call it different names like eco farming, sustainable farming, gathering, the labels are not important, the system you are talking about have animal input: earth worm, bugs, ants...I doubt you truely understand how eco-system works if you want to exclude animals from the picture... Jocah Le FeyCosmos Aqua replied to her own comment.
Group: Cairns Vegans for Change
Jocah Le Fey It is the fault of the seller, who give it to us as hen, false advertising. We are communicating w. her but not getting the response. And I do not expect the seller to treat him as good as vegans. I am not requesting you to take him, just interested in your view of dogmatic veganism.Cosmos Aqua replied to her own comment.
Group: Cairns Vegans for Change
Sarah Cutting my groups have been doing awareness campaigns about pet industry and veganism for many years. Some of our videos in the link are about it. If you look into my animal welfare and rights index, one measurement is about pet keeping https://earthapril.goodeasy.info/research/AnimalWelfareIndexAnimalRightsIndex/ . So I am fully aware of these. I am talking about an immediate issue here. We cannot give him to people for food, or put to sleep. Living as pet appears to be the best option: companion rooster may sound strange to many people. That's why I did not use the term. My group has holistic/systematic view of animal rights. We see permaculture/natural-farming a good way forward for animal rights(minimising overall harm). Mainstream plant farming kill lots of animals in case you did not know. Plants are sentient, people need to extend the compassion to them as well. We encourage no-kill plant farming (harvesting leaves stems, fruits etc. like herbivores do). Veganism is not dogma/religion to me. Sergio Sequeira Jocah Le Fey http://fg.goodeasy.info/Ordinary%20Leave/Permaculture/Cosmos Aqua replied to her own comment.

Group: Cairns Vegans for Change
It is exactly for the efficiency of your 'animal campaign'. Please research population size of the vegan religions. They are foundation of the cultures in Asia (more than half world population is in Asia). Not mention the massive followers outside, for example yoga diet should be vegan. You need more alliesCosmos Aqua replied to Sergio Sequeira's comment.

Herbivores are less territory in general, they usually have larger population. It is like: population size increases, territorial behavior decreases, this is observed in rats - You no longer have own territory/space, so be tolerant...simple. My point is reducing divisive behavior when we can. No need to say/see this an animal cause. We can do many good things at the same time. And 'animal group' should seek partnership w. vegan religious group to broaden the influenceCosmos Aqua replied to Sergio Sequeira's comment.

1)Press isn't public opinion, it can be manipulated. We are (should be) mature enough about propaganda 2)the response/hate from some is predicted, in a vegan film Carnage (2017) for example. What you expect carnivores(meat lovers) do to herbivores (vegans) ? 3) There are many different types of vegans, most Eastern religions(e.g. Hinduism, Buddhism,Taoism) encourage vegetarian/vegan diet for thousands years. That is just your definition. Others don't agree. Some think vegan means herbivore diet. And by your definition, a dog can eat eggs, that is too easy. How can you call it disturbing. I don't have more time for trolls.Cosmos Aqua replied to Shai Myor's comment.
Group: Cairns Vegans for Change
Not that simple. Think. How do you define vegan dogs, if a dog eat 90% plants, some insects, backyard eggs, is he Vegan? This is the diet of typical herbivores.Cosmos Aqua commented on her own post.

I don‘t usually have time for this level of discussion. You need to study animals more and stop assume things: Studies found even wild wolves eat vegan(grass and fruits). And cats/dogs commonly love vegan leftover food like bread, peas. My cat was rescued, she love eat grass every day, and she eat shellfish cooked with grains and eggs, not meat. Trying vegan pet food(by introducing it slowly or since they were little)is much natural than many invasive training methods or desex operations. Dogs are made to run freely, how many owners can let them do that? Are they abusing dogs? We don't need carnivore aggression in a meaningful debate. Should I ask, like you did, you will abuse cows?Or are you suggesting people killing their pets to save cows? I won't ask because theses are stupid/aggressive questions. Be constructive. Leala D. Lupine they do 'love' in a strange way, otherwise mosquito won't be around humans all the time. Without host they die. They know it (unconsciously) that's why many of the guys regret after the abuse and want to get back (to the host, even in the form of harassment) Basically it's Taoism. Opposition is unity. Extremes meet. Look into it. Hate is a type of love, domination is dependency.Cosmos Aqua commented on Leala Daigle's post.

Actually, lots of this type of guys mix love and hate. Of course their definition of love is different from normal people. More like how parasites love and hate the hosts. Group: Cairns Vegans for Change
Daniel Holmes Madden No. it's problematic. Even you mentioned Internet sampling is a weakness. If you want adjust sub-sample later, it requires in depth knowledge of population(eg percentage people that are vegan). Often this is not known. & encouraging participants to one side of belief should also be avoided. For example say 70 % vegan in real population believe 'diet plays a bigger role than genes'. With this type of recruitment, you may end up with 90% people who believe diet plays a bigger role than genes & you have no way to know you are screwed, unless you do more (better) surveys. I am a data scientist ( http://data-scientists.goodeasy.info/ ) Get your sampling right. or you following work is like wasted. I won't do Internet sampling (without careful fix) & the recruitment should be 'neutral'.Cosmos Aqua commented on Sarah Cutting's post.
Group: Cairns Vegans for Change
Good science is not politics/faith. It needs random sample(all sort of people)&allows results in any direction. It's unscientific to over represent vegans. People can accuse the results being screwed by this type of recruitmentCosmos Aqua commented on Julia Dee's post.
